Lauraโs approach to therapy is one that addresses each unique person as a whole with many complex components contributing to their current state. Through empathy and genuine interaction, she seeks to understand each person in the moment from a holistic approach, addressing psychological issues from a whole person perspective. She provides a therapeutic environment to help clients explore issues they are looking to change and to help clients make changes to live the life they are looking for.
Laura specializes in Child-Centered Play Therapy and focuses on the childโs needs as the main agent of change. Laura works with children as young as 3 years old and their parents by teaching behavioral skills and addressing issues faced by families at home and in school. Laura has experience with child concerns including behavioral issues, temper tantrums, angry outbursts and defiance, peer relational problems, and bullying.
Laura provides psychotherapy to clients of all ages and presentations. She works with specific issues including anxiety disorders, survivors of trauma, mood disorders, childhood behavioral disturbance such as temper tantrums, angry outbursts and defiance, impulsive behaviors, grief, self-esteem, and interpersonal relationship problems. Laura understands the importance of well-rounded health and the need for a balanced life, addressing mind, body and spirit.
Laura is a graduate of the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago Illinois. She has worked in a psychiatric nursing home, Chicago Public Schools, community mental health centers, and a psychiatric hospital. Laura is experienced with clients includes ages ranging from 2 to 90 years old. Laura provides individual psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults, family therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy.
