Micayla Paterno is an intern at our Downers Grove location, Grove Counseling Center and Naperville Wellness and Counseling. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical/Community Psychology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is currently earning her Master’s of Social Work at Aurora University. Micayla has experience working with adults, adolescents, and children with disabilities and specializes in addiction, anxiety and depression. Her goal is to create a comfortable environment where clients feel a sense of safety and relief. Micayla prioritizes confidentiality, empathy, and empowerment. She believes that no person, family, or group of people is perfect; we are all flawed in some ways and that makes us human.

 

In her free time, Micayla enjoys being creative–whether it be through writing or art–and spending quality time with family and friends. Micayla is an eldest daughter and takes pride in her maternal nature. She considers herself to be passionate, adventurous, and a foodie!
