Izabel Black
Intern
Izabel is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern who is passionate about creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen and heard. She takes a trauma-informed approach to therapy, recognizing how past experiences can shape the way individuals think, feel, and navigate their lives.
Izabel earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Governors State University. She also brings experience from a hospital setting, where she has supported individuals through acute mental health challenges, further deepening her commitment to compassionate, client-centered care.
Her approach is rooted in person-centered therapy, while integrating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Izabel enjoys working with teens and young adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, and challenges related to self-worth and self-esteem.
Izabel understands that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and she strives to create a space where clients feel comfortable, supported, and empowered to grow at their own pace.
